The Anne Samson Jerusalem Journey
Day 13 – Bullet Factory, Blind Museum and Independence Hall

Dear NCSY NJ TJJ Bus 6 Family,

Hello again from Tel Aviv!

This morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast in our new home at Bnei Dan in Tel Aviv. We boarded the bus and headed to Rechovot to tour the Bullet Factory hidden underneath a kibbutz. Our New Jersey NCSY Regional Director, Rabbi Eitan Katz, joined us and helped us realize how lucky we are to have Jewish people making Jewish products to protect the Jewish homeland.

We then traveled to Holon’s Children’s Museum to visit their Dialogue in the Darkness exhibit. Our group experienced life in complete darkness such as going to the market or navigating a kitchen. We gained a new appreciation for our sense of sight and even got to buy some snacks at a blind café!

We finished our day visiting Independence Hall in Tel Aviv, and saw the room in which the Jewish people declared independence and the State of Israel was born. We heard a recording of Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion’s passionate speech and got a chance to relive that momentous occasion.

Best,
Rabbi Shmulie Greene
