Dear NCSY NJ TJJ Bus 6 Family,

Hello!

Today was a highlight of our trip to Israel. After traveling in the northern Golan and Galilee, the southern Negev, the coastal cities, we finally arrived at the heart of Israel – Jerusalem. We first stopped at the Tayelet, a beautiful lookout over the Old City of Jerusalem. We saw the Temple Mount and mourned for the loss of our Temple, and recognized how lucky we are to have the opportunity to visit such a holy cite, something our ancestors only dreamed of.

We made our way down to the City of David, King David’s home and saw the history before our eyes and walked through Chizkiyahu’s water tunnels. The tunnels were dark and narrow, but together we navigated through and sang some of our favorite songs.

We finally made our way to the Kotel, the Western Wall, a first for many of our group. We spent time praying and singing, connecting to the holiest of locations. We continued to the Jewish quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem for lunch and time to walk around and shop.

Before we left Jerusalem we met a woman from Stand With Us, an Israel Education and Advocacy Organization. She prepared us to advocate for Israel in our hometowns, our high schools, colleges, and on social media. We stopped at the Tomb of Rachel and visited our matriarch Rachel, prayed and connected to the heart of the Jewish people for thousands of years. To finish the day we heard from New Jersey NCSY alumna, Liad Arussy, about her job in the Israel Defense Force as the head of their social media division.

Tonight is our last night in Tel Aviv as tomorrow we pack up and make our way to our free weekend to spend time with our family and friends in Israel!

Tel Aviv Pick Up – Arlozorov Train Station: 6:15 PM

SUNDAY
Jerusalem Drop Off – Ramat Rachel Hotel: 10:00 AM
Tel Aviv Drop Off – Arlozorov Train Station: 8:30 AM
