Regards from Tzfat!!

Friday was a fantastic day as we toured the holy city of Tzefat. We started by visiting the synagogue of the Arizal, one of the most prominent Rabbis to have lived in Tzefat and one of the key Rabbis in understanding the Kabbalah.  We also learned about his colleague, Rabbi Yosef Karo, the ultimate codifier of Jewish law.

Following a short but intense meditation led by Ben Atwood we had some free time for lunch (the schnitzel was out of this world) and there was an abundance of shopping in the artists colony. Necklaces, bracelets and paintings were just some of the things that we loaded up on. We concluded our trip to the old city of Tzfat by hearing from one of the local artists, Avraham Leventhal, about his amazing life story and the inspiration and meaning behind many of his works of art.

Before heading back to get ready for Shabbat in the Golan we stopped by the Otzar Stam center where we learned about the process of writing Kosher Torah scrolls, Mezuzot and Tefillin

We are so excited to spend our first shabbat together in beautiful Alonei Habashan in the Golan!
