Dear NCSY NJ TJJ Bus 6 Family,

Greetings from the GOLAN!!!!

Monday began early (5:30 am wakeup!!!) with a hike in the Zavitan valley!! There we enjoyed seeing the beautiful scenery and swimming in the natural pools. We then traveled to Kibbutz Elrom to watch a movie about the heroic tank battle during the Yom Kippur war headed by Avigdor Kahalani.

We then headed back to Afik for a rest and dinner.

We ended our day at the Talmudic Village in Katzerin where we learned about life in the post second temple period. The ancient synagogue was especially inspiring as we could feel how generation after generation continued in their practice of Judaism and that the torch of Jewish continuity has been passed to us.

We have a wet day planned tomorrow as we will be building rafts, playing water sports in the Kinneret and enjoying a boat cruise in Tiberias.
