Dear NCSY NJ TJJ Bus 6 Family,

Regards from Tzefat!!

Friday was a fantastic day as we toured the holy city of Tzefat. We started by visiting the synagogue of the Arizal, one of the most prominent Rabbis to have lived in Tzefat and one of the key Rabbis in understanding the Kabbalah.

Afterwards we visited the synagogue of his colleague, Rabbi Yosef Karo, the ultimate codifier of Jewish law. We then learned about the Lecha Dodi prayer in Friday night services.

Following the uplifting singing we had some free time for lunch (the schnitzel was out of this world) and there was an abundance of shopping in the artists colony. Necklaces, bracelets and paintings were just some of the things that we loaded up on. We concluded our trip to Tzfat by hearing from one of the local artists, Avraham Leventhal, about his amazing life story and the inspiration and meaning behind many of his works of art.

We are so excited to spend our second shabbat together in beautiful Maayan Charod!!
