Dearest Bus 6 Family!
We have been having a wet and wild blast in the Golan this week!
On Tuesday we enjoyed a morning water hike in Nachal Hatsbani followed by an amazing raft journey down the Jordan river. Once we were through splashing and swimming in the Jordan we enjoyed the calm cool water as we drifted down stream on a hot day. After conquering the Jordan we traveled North to the kibbutz of Misgav Am where we learned about the security of the Lebanese boarder from a self proclaimed Zionist and “jewish redneck” (originally from Cleveland, Ohio).
Tuesday began early with a hike in the Zavitan valley. There we enjoyed seeing the beautiful scenery and swimming in the natural pools. We also had an opportunity to learn about one of Israels most important secret agents, Eli Cohen, and his sacrifice for the state of Israel against their enemy Syria. We ended our day at the Talmudic Villiage in Katzerin where we learned about life in the post second temple period. The ancient synagogue was especially inspiring as we could feel that generation after generation continued in the practice of Judaism and that the torch of jewish continuity has been passed to us.
We look forward to continuing or stay in the north and we look forward to our time in Tibereas and in Acco!
Best,
Chaim
